Dermal Fillers in Miami Beach | Aventura | Delray Beach | Palm Beach Gardens

Getting your face to look its best can be difficult. Wrinkles and lines can be tough to beat. Diet and exercise often leave the face behind, while significant weight loss can cause problems of its own. Age, lifestyle, and environmental damage also take their toll. Fortunately, there’s a non-surgical way to tackle all of these problems at once: dermal fillers.

VANA Laser Club is your Miami-area home to the most advanced treatments to help you fight the signs of aging in your face, including dermal fillers. Our state-of-the-art and luxurious clinics in Delray Beach, Aventura, Palm Beach Gardens, and Miami Beach offer you many options and are staffed by caring, compassionate teams. We are passionate about not only helping you look your best but helping you feel your most beautiful too!

What are Dermal Fillers?

As skin ages, it can lose elasticity and its resilience. Repeated movements of the underlying muscles from everyday actions — like smiling, laughing, squinting, or pursing your lips — can make dynamic lines permanent. Changes in the underlying tissues can lead to sunken spots or sharp or thin features.

Dermal fillers work against all of these negative changes by reinforcing your skin and features against volume loss while simultaneously restoring and rejuvenating your skin. Do you have any complaints about your appearance like these?

  • Prominent wrinkles
  • Deep creases or furrows
  • Shallow contours
  • Thin lips
  • Sharp nose, chin, or jawline
  • Shadows under your eyes
  • Scars

Amazingly, all of these issues can be addressed with dermal fillers. We’ll work with you to determine the best course of action for your treatment plan when you visit us at VANA Laser Club.

Types of Dermal Fillers

During your consultation at VANA Laser Club, our board-certified cosmetic care professionals will thoroughly assess your current condition, discuss your goals, and answer your questions. Together, you will craft a personalized treatment plan which will include the appropriate filler to address your unique needs. There are several options for dermal fillers. They all perform the same function but vary in effect and duration. The classes of dermal fillers are:

Calcium Hydroxylapatite

Calcium hydroxylapatite is typically employed to fill in deep creases or hollow regions. It is a biosynthetic compound, so it has a low risk of allergic reactions or side effects and consistently produces a nice, natural-looking result.

Hyaluronic Acid

This naturally occurring chemical is present in healthy skin and helps replace damaged skin and maintain vibrance. It is especially preferred for reducing the appearance of scars, filling sunken spots, and smoothing out mild wrinkles and lines.

Polyalkylimide

This semi-permanent, biocompatible filler is most often used to enhance cheekbones, redefine the jawline, and plump lips. It can also be used against deeper lines or scars that have created pits in the skin.

Polylactic Acid

A synthetic filler, polylactic acid is known to stimulate collagen production and is ideal for filling in laugh lines and nasolabial folds. Unlike other fillers, this substance takes time for results to appear as collagen is produced and skin is restored.

Polymethyl-methacrylate (PMMA)

With this filler, tiny spheres of the compound are suspended in a carrier substance. It is most often used to address medium to severe wrinkles and furrows but can also reduce sunken scars or enhance thin lips.

How do I know if Dermal Fillers are right for me?

Dermal fillers are considered highly safe and effective for the vast majority of clients. Depending on the filler used, some people can be allergic, but this will be checked before any injections begin.

People who are healthy overall and don’t smoke tend to do the best with dermal fillers. However, we do recommend you consult with your primary care physician before undergoing treatment. Clients who are committed to a good skin care regimen typically see longer-lasting results, and realistic expectations for the treatment often lead to a more positive experience.

Dermal Fillers Procedure

All of the dermal filler treatments VANA Laser Club provides are performed as same-day outpatient procedures. While the exact duration will vary according to your treatment plan, most dermal filler applications can be completed in less than an hour.

Your skin will first be cleaned and prepared for injections, often with a mild topical anesthetic or numbing agent. Your aesthetic professional will then use a syringe and needle to inject a precise amount of the filler under your skin. This process will be repeated as necessary over the entire treatment area to ensure balanced effects and a natural appearance.

Dermal Fillers Recovery & Results

Following the treatment, your provider will give you detailed aftercare instructions. You may experience mild discomfort, redness, or swelling at the injection sites, but this usually resolves within a few hours. It is important to protect your treated skin from impact, heat, and sun exposure as it heals. You may notice a small bump where the filler was applied, but this should recede as it settles and your body adjusts.

Results are often immediately noticeable once any swelling has receded, but this will vary depending on the type of filler used. Some fillers require multiple treatments before ideal results are realized. Others may require time for your body to respond to the collagen stimulation to see optimal effects. The duration of the results will depend on the type of product chosen, keeping your skin hydrated and nourished, and protecting your skin from damage. Many treatments can last months to years in ideal conditions.

Dermal Fillers FAQs

While they are often used to treat similar conditions, dermal fillers and neuromodulators (like BOTOX) function quite differently.

Dermal fillers fill in the space beneath the skin to increase volume and typically react only mildly with your body, especially in the production of collagen. They also tend to last longer.

Neuromodulators work by immobilizing muscles underlying the skin that create wrinkles. The skin is then able to heal the lines. However, the effects tend to be temporary, usually lasting only a few months.

Dermal fillers are considered very safe. Risks vary by type, but they generally carry a very low risk of allergic reactions or other side effects. But — like any medical procedure — they can be dangerous when used by a poorly-trained provider. Dermal fillers should only be administered by a board-certified professional like those at VANA Laser Club.

The typical cost for a dermal filler injection can range widely, usually between $500 and $1000. Several factors will influence the cost of your treatment, including:

  • Type of filler used
  • Number of injections required
  • The extent of the treatment

After you and your aesthetic professional create your treatment plan, the cost of your specific treatment will be determined.

Because it is considered an elective procedure, most insurance plans do not cover dermal filler treatments. However, we recommend that you check with your provider before your consultation.
